Magic

A little mystery in the everyday.

Sensitivity, imagination & intuition

Some things stay with me: a look, a dream, a line in a book, the way light falls between the trees.

Magic has been part of how I see myself since I was little. Around the age of nine, I began asking questions about life and wondering what my dreams meant. Since 2017, I have been consciously and consistently finding little doorways that help me understand myself, explore what I feel and make sense of my experiences.

Sensitivity & the world around me

I experience emotions intensely. Small changes in expression, tone or atmosphere can stay with me long after a conversation ends. I sometimes describe it as feeling the energy of a room: the mood, the tension, the warmth. Other people’s pain can move me deeply, and busy surroundings can leave me needing quiet.

An imagination I can almost step into

My imagination can be vivid and cinematic, full of scenes, colours and sensations. A story or a daydream can draw me in completely. Dreams have stayed with me since childhood, and some coincidences have felt strikingly connected to things I had imagined. I explore those experiences with curiosity, without needing every connection to be proof or every dream to be a prediction.

Emotions with their own landscape

Love can feel vast. Attraction can feel magnetic. Pain can take on spiritual meaning, anger can feel volcanic, and grief can change the way I see the world. These are the words I use for the intensity of my experience. Relationships can become whole stories in my imagination; writing gives me somewhere to examine them and hear my own voice.

Intuition, patterns & moments of insight

I am drawn to patterns, symbolism and the moments when an idea seems to arrive all at once. I sometimes call that an intuitive download. I can slip naturally into daydreaming and reflection, making connections that feel meaningful to me. I also leave space to pause, question my first impression and discover another explanation.

Giving my inner world a creative form

Prayer, journaling, time in nature and personal rituals are some of the doorways through which I continue to explore my inner world. My photographs and my book are ways of turning that rich inner life into something I can share. Sensitivity is part of my creative voice, and quiet gives that voice room to grow.

A little mystery. A lot of feeling. Something to create.

Two places, still me

Over eleven years of life in London, there came a time when I was exhausted. I went home to Romania for a while because I needed to rest. During that stay, I also brought the pieces of my book together.

At home, I began making room. I sorted clothes, cleared drawers and let go of things I no longer needed. One day, after cleaning my room, I noticed that my mind felt clearer too.

I cooked with my mum. I read, slept and went running near the house. The forest became part of my days. There were familiar paths and others I had never explored, even though I had grown up nearby.

I missed London. It had been a childhood dream, and it still held freedom, independence and possibility for me. Yet the thought of returning frightened me too. I wanted to keep the rest and the everyday habits I had found at home.

Home was complicated. There were disagreements and lonely days alongside shared meals and support. I could be grateful for that time and still want to leave.

When I returned to London, there were difficult days too. Going back to a city I loved did not answer every question. I was learning how to make space for a quieter life within it.

I carry both places with me. I want the independence I feel in London, the time to write, and something of the peace I found along those forest paths. I am still discovering how to bring them together.

Flowers, trees & city light

The paths that brought me home

While I was home resting and working on my book, I kept returning to the forest. I had wanted to walk and run those roads, and now I had time to explore them.

Years earlier, I had imagined forests and deer during meditation. Seeing deer on these walks brought that memory back. The connection felt personal and stayed with me.

Some days I ran. Other days I stopped to look. Snow covered the path, sunlight reached between the trees, and sometimes a deer appeared at the edge of the woods. I photographed and filmed a few of those moments.

These are places from the landscape I grew up in, seen again with more time to notice. I took their memory back to London with me.
